Professor Gizmo and His Fans

This website is dedicated to the memory of Cliff Jarrett, our original Professor Gizmo. Cliff’s creative talents helped shape our education shows into entertaining vehicles for teaching our young audiences the themes of each show. As he was a master at improvisation, there were many priceless and memorable moments when he worked with the interaction of our young audience members. He did his best to always offer positive encouragement to the children, even if they provided incorrect answers to questions.

Cliff was a consummate and dedicated performer, co-worker and friend. His endless creative energies provided each actor appearing on stage with him the challenge to explore new ways to bring a scene to life.

Our “Professor Gizmo” was always bringing laughter and smiles, lots of fun, and a quality learning experience to the children. For our adult audiences, he looked forward for opportunities to engage them in moments of laughter. He had a wonderful sense of humor that provided smiles and laughter and joyful moments to all who met him.

After Cliff was diagnosed with cancer, he would look for the humorous moments in his medical challenges. One of his lines in Professor Gizmo’s Invention Show was “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again”. Cliff researched and tried every medical treatment option for which he qualified, keeping in mind his Gizmo line of encouragement. The curtain came down on our wonderful actor all too soon and this shining star is truly missed at each performance of our invention show. Cliff Jarrett’s inspiration for providing quality edutainment is our guiding light and we were so grateful to have shared the stage with him.

With endless thanks and appreciation for our “Professor Gizmo”, we share with you the following excerpts as written of letters we have received over the years from children following a performance of Professor Gizmo’s Invention Show:
